Total expenses were 79.64 percent of quarterly revenues, up from 75.71 percent for the same period last year. That has resulted in a contraction of 393 basis points in operating margin to 20.36 percent.
Operating income for the quarter was $19.42 million, compared with $38.52 million in the previous year period.
However, the adjusted operating income for the quarter stood at $23.40 million compared to $45.52 million in the prior year period. At the same time, adjusted operating margin contracted 417 basis points in the quarter to 24.53 percent from 28.71 percent in the last year period.
